Spent the weekend there and had a mixed experience. Everything under my control was great. Food, fun and friends. The problem we had was with overzealous rangers. Sitting around Friday night we had an extra car and had already planned (and paid) to park the extra car at the boat launch. A ranger stopped by and challenged us asking if anyone was going home, then after we told him we had it covered based on their rules he asked for proof. The next night, he's back. One of our friends was going to leave that night to go home. About 9:15 he rolls by and tells us visiting hours are over at 9 and the guy needs to decide to stay, or leave now. Let's ignore the party happening three plots down. With people parked illegally in an empty plot across the way. Also two police cars parked on the road running for an hour. We inquire to make sure everything is ok because there are cops there and the ranger let's us know that cops are all over and live locally, and so does he. He clearly didn't want us there and he wanted to find a reason to ask us to leave. Put plainly the guy was a jerk. The following morning we noticed beer bottles sitting on people's tables. Alcohol is not allowed. If you aren't part of whatever secret society they have going on, you clearly will be harassed. We won't be going back.

I had a great week here camping. I was in Honeysuckle Hollow, which I would NOT recommend if you're bringing an RV. Most sites are way too close together, so if you want to risk having a bunch of partiers ruining a peaceful nights rest, go for it. (It happened to me.) Otherwise, the Fox Den area has, by far, the best RV sites. The campground is beautiful, though, with plenty of trails with great vistas.

Aug18-22. 2017 Fox Den. For my first time camping in a tent it was great. From the horse ride to the boat rental this place is awesome especially for my kids first camp trip. I didn't have rangers watching me. I didn't feel like it a prisoner here ur free to exit at anytime just that u do have to be back in the gate before 9pm. Other then that it was great time and place to get away from the city. Everyone here is nice and very helpful. We took a Savannah hike and our guide Dave was great and informed us with alot of information about the Savannah in Chain O Lakes. If I could give this place and everything here more then 5stars I would give it 100 stars. I loved it and will look forward to coming back again and again. I think that all the people who left bad reviews are the ones that kept breaking the little NO Alcohol rule that they do have here. And for the price I paid in all was worth every dollar.

Had an AWFUL stay at this State Park. Would give them 0 stars if I could. While there I Almost felt as if I was in prison. The Park Rangers NEVER leave you alone, and will find ANY reason to kick you out (especially if you're a young adult). MIKE THE SITE TECH was the most UNPROFESSIONAL, IGNORANT Man I've ever met. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND finding somewhere else to camp. They searched our garbage, and Searched our cabin looking for alcohol, which none of my campers had. (They found nothing and made fools of themselves.) ZERO Privacy! Most unwelcoming Park I've ever been to. My campers and I were all treated like teenagers, and we are all WELL above the age of 21. It was pathetic.

Secluded state park. Camp sites a little close together. No fire pits just these metal grill things for camp fires.
